The Wonders of The Walnut Street Theatre
just one block from The Morris House Hotel and M Restaurant!
Philadelphia is rich in so many historic treasures that it would take years to fully research and visit them all. But one very special one stands out, The Walnut Street Theatre. Located on the corner of 9th and Walnut Philadelphia, they are our neighbors just one short block away. Not only is this lovely theatre a National Historic Landmark (so is The Morris House Hotel), but it also boasts of housing the largest subscriber audience in the world of over 56,000 people! Opening its doors in 1809, it has continued to produce top-notch shows, enthralling audiences of all ages for centuries.
For their Main stage productions, Oscar Wilde’s witty romantic comedy A Perfect Husband continues until March 3rd, to be followed by Good People, an American play about life, love and the roots of your life that influence both- (March 12-April 28th) and the season finishes with Grease, the energetic musical that we all have come to love for its wonderful songs and dance , running from May 14th -July 14th.
The perfect match to enjoy what The Walnut Street Theatre has to offer is to also treat yourself to the best meal in the town at M Restaurant either after a matinee (we open our doors at 4:00 for theatre goers), or enjoy dinner before the 8:00 curtain. M Restaurant is listed on The Walnut Street Theatres’ website’s dining guide and we offer an amazing three-course dinner for $35.00! Using locally sourced ingredients to design the best menu in the city for the price, we change our menu seasonally to take advantage of the best our farmers have to offer us. Mention you are a theatre subscriber and we will not only give you our theatre discount, but make the experience relaxing and memorable. Make it a tradition to come to M Restaurant for a package that makes your theatre experience complete!
